1. Hey Steve! How are things going bro?

2. Could you tell us about your Label/Distro, Mental Abuse Records? How did all this got started and how are things going with it today?
I started it as Mental Abuse Productions in early 2007 as a label to release my projects on. I had mentioned to Prrot (Italy) about the label while making a trade & Ivan asked if I would release it. So i accepted, and have been releasing stuff for alot of other bands since. I dont really release one particular thing, I like to have more diverse. Everything is Goregrind,vomit noise, porno,cybergrind, brutal death metal (including old style true black metal) and experimental/doom noise.
3. It's know fact that running a label cost a lot. What motivates you in maintaining your label? So far what are the reactions like that you're getting from the scene?
I would have to say the process of the creation of an album or split. putting all that work into it to see the final outcome of it as a finished copy. I still always get the same feeling of accomplishment everytime i get something printed up. & Being able to help out the bands get their stuff out because i remember what its like to get your first releases & it feels fuckin awesome.And of couuuuurse keeping sick twisted shit alive and heard. I get great feedback from the bands I work with & alot of people seem to be excited about the releases.
4. Mental Abuse Records deals mainly with gore grind, grindcore and cybergrind bands, what is it about that got you so interested with this kind of filth? And tell us about your current releases.
Well, since I was in 6th grade in school, when I heard Beherit, Cannibal corpse, and Morbid Angel for the first time, and I've loved brutal music ever since. Plus I love blood drenched gory horror movies! The more sick & insane, the better. As for goregrind & shits, I first listened to shit like Decomposing Serenity & Tumour, Exhumed, Meatshits & many more. For the cyber part, that came from alot of old industrial bands. The current new releases are Vomitorizer, which is a solo project from Necroslash of Rectal Cumshot, Maggot Launcher "House of maggots" full length tape (eerie doom noise), Clitpeeler full length, Psychotic Homicidal Dismemberment full length, "The War Against Cunts" 3-way split with my other project M-16 Suicide, Clitpeeler, and Euphoric Insanity to name a few.
5. What exactly is your favorite genre and why? Do you listen to non-metal stuff as well?
Definitly any kind of sick fuckin goregrind. I'm very drawn to the relentless fury that it holds. If it puts sicker pictures in my head than whats already there, then I like it, heheh. As for non metal shit, I like alot of ambient, experimental, doom noise, certain harsh noise, and alot of industrial.
6. What was the first band you released? Did you choose them or was it the contrary? Was it hard to convince them to work with you, as you were a very new label with no release?
Nope, wasnt hard at all. Ivan from Prrot/Anatomy asked and I did.
7. How do you choose a band you'll work with? Do you care only about the musical aspect?
alot of that falls half and half. Its very important that the people are easy to work with & not unreasonably demanding. And alot goes on the musical aspect as well as far as originality, and a true to the music/noise you represent. Both of those have a balance of itself, but there can be the sickest band ever, but if theyre a total pain in the ass I will not care to work with them. I dont like big ego shit. but luckily I havent really worked with any "bad" people so far.
8. I've noticed that you dont mind releasing shit with not so great sound quality. Why is that?
To me, it doesnt matter about the sound quality or technique or that kinda shit. Its the effort put into it, and the true underground spirit thats most important. I usually prefer the kind of low-fi vomit noise shits. Thats shit's great for tapes, and tapes are a favorite thing of mine to release.
9. Among all of your releases, which one's your favorite? Why?
Hmm, thats a hard decision because there's so many. And I would hate to seem like I'm leaving anyone out. I always usually enjoy the more unique ones.
10. Do you have any plans on releasing brutal death/black metal bands? What can you say about them?
Yes, in the process of looking actually. Some previous brutal death bands/projects that have been released are Chainsaw Dissection & Goatbleeder. Brutal death/black metal is great as long as its true to its roots., because there's alot of that music thats way overdone nowadays. And alot of the newer black metal shit seems like its just for appearance & sounds the same as the 100 other ones that sound the same, heheh you know..
11. What would be the perfect band you dream to release something of? Do you still happen to send CDs to paper zines?
Thats a hard decision. And this would be the first paper zine I'm going to send stuff to.
12. What's your opinion about paper/web zines? Are there some good current paper zines you could advice us?
Of course theyre great for getting the word out on shit. Ive gotten many copies of Guttural sickess from Primitive Recordings when I've ordered CDs from them before. Perhaps you could refer to me a few good ones? I'm usually too busy to inquire.
13. Do you have a great admiration to serial killers?
Yea, I have a few favorites. Theyre great for population control
14. Have you ever contemplated about how such serial killers feel about lyricist and gore enthusiast such as yourselves, using their twisted state of mind for lyrics and themes? Elaborate.
heheh, yea I've wondered that before, but I bet most serial killers liked oldies, and regular type stuff! (laughs)
15. If you are to be a serial killer, who would you be and what sorts your will your victims be?
I would be the stalker/slasher, or the ultra deviant sadistic ones. Victims may vary..
16. And how would you like to die??

17. You're involved with shitloads of different projects. Namely Septic Mutation, Disinvolve, Bacteriophagia, M-16 Suicide, Black Mold Phallanx, Desolate Horizon, Pestilent Fragments, Vaginal Crucifiction, Dermatofibrosarcoma, Hypodermic Piss Fix. Among all these projects, which one do you consider to be your main endeavor?
I would say Septic Mutation or Bacteriophagia
18. Do you consider each of your project something altogether different? Please describe each of these bands, releases etc..
Yes, I like to keep them all kinda seperate with their own sound. Desolate Horizon & Pestilent Fragments were the only ones that deal with personal shit. Septic Mutation I always themed as Genetically Altered Blastvomit grind. It was started as a solo side project when my friend and I were'nt recording Disinvolve shit. Bacteriophagia is Sludgy vomitnoise gore that I focus all sickness into. Black Mold Phallanx is like a cyber gorenoise on a horrific acid trip. one night I was doing experimental Septic Mutation tracks and being severely sleep deprived to the point of half hallucinating. They didnt quite fit the SxMx sound but I kept making a few songs like that & Black Mold Phallanx just came to mind & thats what I called it. With a different concept in themes of track titles & sounds. Rather than just gore, it also involves creepy & obscure things that makes it a little more unsettleing. The rest are for fun, or were short lived projects.The ones that are R.I.P. now are Desolate Horizon, which was one of those things I just had to get out of me,it was experimental industrial/doomnoise, and Disinvolve, which was sorta my concept of grindcore & had my friend J. Stewart on guitars and M-16 Suicide which I called psychotic psybergrind. It had my other friends Dustin & Rob doing vocals with me. They were short-lived & fun, but just not enough time for. Vaginal Crucifiction is a one-time cyberporngrind project wih Neto from Hemorhoidal Anal Suffering (Brazil). Hypodermic Piss Fix is Cyber piss-porn grind. All programming, no guitars. Pestilent Fragments is doom/noise, and Dermatofibrosarcoma is splatter vomit noise with my girlfriend Apryl playing drums. Theyre all fun & it keeps me busy & ets the creativity flow in more ways than one.
19. Aside from Mental Abuse Records and playing in the band, what do you do during your spare time?
I'm either at work or spending time with my son. He'll be 2 years old soon.
20. what's coming up in the future?
There's going to be a split tape with Motherpig & Phlegm Thrower -limited to 100 copies, a 4-way split tape with Rectal Cumshot/Devoured by Vermin/Dermatofibrosarcoma and Ufflake, a split tape with Bacteriophaia and Malaria, Rectumicide full length pro cdr, and Splattered Entrails/Disgorgement of Intestinal Lymphatic Suppuration split pro cdr. Those will be out rrreal soon. Also expect some more diverse shit like some more doom/noise/experimental.
